Spa Details:

Kelly’s Spa is not only my favorite, but countless others also love it too. Conde Nast Traveler’s ranks Kelly’s Spa among the “Top 50 Hotel Spas in the United States”, and it is pretty clear why when you come here. The spa is part of The Mission Inn Hotel & Spa and has a Spanish-Mission style atmosphere creating a unique and relaxing ambiance.

It offers countless options for restoring your ‘balance’, in a variety of treatments and therapies given by experienced professionals. Kelly’s stretches 7,000 square feet and has everything from treatment rooms, bath suites, private villas, relaxation rooms, eucalyptus steam room, and a nail salon. Whatever you come here for, you’ll be sure to leave completely revitalized.

Upon entering Kelly’s Spa, I immediately noticed the beautiful Tuscany decor that outlines the spa. I also noticed the relaxing smell of eucalyptus and the calm music that met me when I walked through the door. I instantly felt at ease and was very excited for the day ahead.

Upon checking in, the staff was very welcoming and offered a drink menu in which I ordered my usual champagne and chocolate truffles. The staff escorted me to the locker room and presented me with a silky, soft white robe, and spa sandals to wear for the day. You do not need to worry about bringing anything here because the vanity in the bathroom has it all from razors to hair ties, to blow dryers and mouthwash.

My first stop was the Eucalyptus Steam Room to relax and loosen my muscles before the massage. Afterward, I indulged in the 25-minute luxury rose petal bath for my first treatment. The bath had hydrating rosemary in the water, and they provided me with chocolates, strawberries, grapes, and water. Soft lights dimmed the room, and there was soft relaxing spa music playing.

Although I did not want this treatment to end, I was looking forward to the next part a 50 minute, full body Swedish massage with lavender aromatherapy. I have always enjoyed the smell of lavender oil- it is so soothing and relaxing.

I visited the large relaxation lounge after my massage treatment was finished. It also was beautifully decorated, keeping the Tuscan theme throughout. Here, you can get fresh lemon water, hot water for tea, and little snacks. I spotted a chaise lounge and cozied up with a blanket.

With all this relaxation, it is easy to get hungry. Luckily, Kelly’s Spa has a nice food to order from. My favorite meal is the Kelly’s New York Spa Salad, which is New York steak with baby arugula, Belgian endive, apples, baby greens, and gorgonzola cheese topped with balsamic vinaigrette. It comes with fresh sourdough bread. Delicious.

You can eat your meal poolside if you want, and afterward take a swim in the secluded pool or soak in the Jacuzzi. There are lush greenery and pink bougainvillea surrounding the area, and the poolside bar serves cocktails.

The day was great and has kept me coming back again and again. I love the Mission Inn, but Kelly’s Spa is the best part of it all.
