Adventure Details:
While I was staying at the Napili Bay Condos in Maui, I saw the couple staying next door from me bringing back food from a restaurant called The Gazebo. I asked them about it, and they highly recommended that I go. The Gazebo is a great place to grab a delicious breakfast, and for that reason, I knew I had to check it out.

When I found out that The Gazebo was not far from me, I decided it would be fun to go for a good breakfast. Not only was I looking forward to the food here, but it is located right next to a beautiful look-out point where you can see Napili Bay, and across the water to the island of Molokai.

The Gazebo opens at 7 a.m. and closes at 2 p.m., so if it is a little too late for breakfast, you can come for a brunch or lunch. However, it is important to know that the famous dish here is a breakfast one; the banana macadamia nut pancakes, which of course I ordered. The delicious pancakes come with a smooth and tasty whipped topping and coconut syrup. If this sounds a bit too sweet for you, there are tons of other breakfast items you can try, like fried rice, omelets, eggs Benedict in different variations, and fresh fruits.

Fried Rice with Portuguese Sausage

After eating the pancakes, I needed something salty to compensate for all the sweetness I tasted. I had ordered another favorite dish here, fried rice with Portuguese sausage (cured pork sausage seasoned with onions, garlic, and paprika), ham chunks, peppers, and topped with an egg. If my description of this meal does not already have your mouth watering, then imagine trying it for yourself.

Most people come here for breakfast. Even though The Gazebo does serve lunch, the lunch menu is a bit limited compared to the fantastic options for breakfast. However, if you like a good burger, salad, or sandwich, they have those here, and they are good, too.

The best part about the breakfast meals here is that you will not need to eat lunch, or maybe even dinner, as The Gazebo is incredibly generous when it comes to their portion sizes. Their service was impeccable, and I could tell that they appreciated my business. I also got to take in a fantastic view while eating my food.

Ring the bell if you see whales

Ring the bell if you see whales

I enjoyed the early morning stroll to The Gazebo almost as much as I enjoyed the food. On the way there from my condo, I walked on the beach through lava rock that is home to several tide pools, and I saw sea turtles, fish, crabs, and urchins, all out celebrating the morning with me. There is a bell hanging from a palm tree at The Gazebo that you can ring if you sight whales.

Before you go, it is important to know that I had to wait in the line about 45 minutes before getting in, but it was all worth it. However, if you would rather take your food back to your condo, you can order it for pick-up, and it will be ready when you arrive. The Gazebo is worth a visit during your trip to Maui.

And yes, the blog title is a reference to Jack Johnson.
